Established in 2012 by Vancouver residents Devon Bray and Thomas Poffenroth, Loowit Brewing Company is the latest significant addition to underpin a revitalized downtown Vancouver, Washington. Loowit specializes in brewing approachable, well-balanced ales. These hand crafted ales are thoughtfully developed with our own unique Pacific Northwest flair that showcases our individual tastes. We believe it's all or nothing when developing a new beer and do not cut corners to cut costs or flavor. The quality and integrity of the beer is paramount.
The lineup of Loowit beers are currently distributed across western Washington as well as Oregon.
Timeline:
2012: Loowit opens it's doors in October featuring 3 beers on tap: Shadow Ninja IPA, Extrabeerestrial ESB and The Walking Red.
2013: Distribution of our beer begins in SW Washington. At only 8 months old, Loowit wins a Gold Medal in the Fruit Beer category of the Washington Beer Awards for Vandalia Summer Ale. Open days and hours are expanded in the tap room. Cooperage was significantly increased and a new 20 bbl uni-tank was added to the line up. We became the first brewery to sell beer at the Vancouver Farmers Market. Distribution of our beers expanded to include a good portion of Oregon and most of western Washington. The brewery underwent another significant expansion with the addition of more 20 bbl tanks, new glycol system, new grain mill and new screw auger. Loowit took home 2 more awards from the Washington Beer Awards: Gold for Two-Sixteen Red Ale in the Irish Red Ale category and Bronze for Shimmergloom Stout in the Irish/British Stout category.
