Jubeck New World Brewing is a small (nano) brewery located in downtown Dubuque, Iowa. Our mission is to create interesting and delicious craft beer for the Dubuque community.
We took a different approach to funding the opening of this brewery. Instead of getting a big loan or taking money from investors, we asked YOU, our fellow Dubuque beer enthusiasts, to contribute to the startup costs by purchasing a membership in advance through Kickstarter. In exchange, you got a share of the beer we make for a year. The concept is a CSB (community supported brewery), much like CSA farms. Benefits of this CSB program include:
A repertoire of brews tailored to the tastes of the Dubuque beer enthusiasts. As a member, you're be able to let us know what you think of the beer each week and give us suggestions for new brews ... we want to brew the beer you like! An instant community of like-minded beer enthusiasts. We want our brewery to be a welcoming place where "everyone knows your name". Our hope is that, as you stop by every week to pick up your growler or enjoy a pint, you'll get to know us and the other members as friends. We look forward to creating new epicenter for connection and community-building in Dubuque.
Special "members-only" events. As a CSB member, you'll be invited to exclusive seasonal events. Past events have included: Octoberfest, Beer Brunch, membership appreciation party.
Any beer, same price. As a member, you can fill your growler or glass with any beer on tap, regardless of price ... Whereas non-members are subject to price variation in certain beers.
Most importantly, this crowd-funding approach keeps us focused on what matters most: good beer and community in Dubuque.

History
In May 2013 we used Kickstarter, an online crowd-funding platform, to raise funds for our initial startup costs and manage our first round of membership enrollment. Our Kickstarter campaign was an incredible success, exceeding our goal by $7,000 for a total of $37,027. 175 backers from the Dubuque community and beyond pledged amounts from $5 to $1000. We were so thrilled by this amazing show of support from the community!
Energized by the community's support, we went to work pulling together all of the equipment, space, licensing, permits and insurance required to run a commercial nano brewery.
In July 2014 Jubeck New World Brewing opened its doors ... Currently open only Thursday and Friday evenings from 4-11pm, the taproom offers craft brews and camaraderie like no other venue in Dubuque!
