Friends noodling around guitars, who suddenly realize they've hit on something great. Stories, told around a campfire, when nobody has a clue what time it is. Great beer is there.
Tim Brady & Jamie Long became friends years ago over great beer. Tim was brewing professionally at Calhoun's (Cally's) Restaurant & Brewing Co. in Harrisonburg, Virginia and Jamie was figuring out that he was a lot more interested in brewing school than law school. Over the years Tim traded in his rubber boots for a position with a craft beer distribution company and Jamie attended Siebel Institute of Brewing Technology followed by professional brewing jobs with Starr Hill Brewery and Flying Dog Brewery. The two friends stayed in touch and opening a brewery together was a frequent topic of conversation. (Read more about our team here.)
In 2013, a space in a renovated Ice House in downtown Harrisonburg became available. It was perfect; the wheels were in motion. Pale Fire Brewing Co. opened in April 2015.
Pale Fire beer is currently distributed in Virginia by Virginia Eagle in Harrisonburg, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, and Winchester; and also by Specialty Beverage in Richmond and Tidewater. Our beer is available in 1/6 and 1/2 kegs.
