Peckish Pig is a restaurant and brewery that opened in March of 2014. We are located on the Evanston side of historic Howard Street, and have been an integral part in helping to restore the area to its former glory. Before the building became Peckish Pig, many diverse businesses called it home. There were five separate store fronts that were gutted and re-finished as part of the Howard Street Revitalization Project. At one point there was a record store, a dry cleaner, and a nail salon, among others.Â
Two of the owners are Debbie and Jamie Evans, a husband and wife team that have extensive backgrounds in the industry. Debbie runs the kitchen as the Executive Chef, while Jamie is in charge of the front of house, focusing on the bar and customer relations. They have owned and/or worked in restaurants on three different continents. Originally from Liverpool, England, they have now been a big part of the Evanston community for nearly 20 years. The third member of the ownership team is Tom Fogarty, who serves as the Brewmaster. Tom was born and raised in Pontiac, Illinois, but has lived in Rogers Park for several years. He started out as a homebrewer, and has been making delicious beers for about 7 years.Â
In addition to the owners, Debbie and Jamie's kids, India and Janek were a huge part of getting Peckish off the ground. India is the General Manager and is in charge of all private events, and Janek is a jack-of-all-trades, brewing beer, bartending, managing, and even jumping into the kitchen when needed.Â
Here at Peckish Pig, we aim to create a fun, vibrant atmosphere for our guests that keeps them coming back. We offer house-brewed drafts, an extensive wine and cocktail program, and a locally sourced food menu with great options for vegetarians, vegans and carnivores alike.
